2024
2024 is shaping up to be a significant year for our Foundation! In late 2023, FCR staff voted to focus on Food Insecurity & Poverty Reduction as our 2024/2025 pillar of focus. Throughout the next two years, we’ll be partnering with Community Food Centres Canada as our signature partner, and continuing to expand our regional events across our provinces. Stay tuned to see all that we accomplish this year!

We're getting busy volunteering at organizations across Canada! We've already had over 50% of our staff nationwide use their volunteer day, with many more planned!

2022 & 2023 - Taking on a New Focus
Upon completing two successful years focusing on Food Insecurity, our employees elected to support Mental Health as our next pillar of focus. We partnered with Kids Help Phone and their Counsellor in The Classroom program, promoting the discussion of mental health and well-being among young people.

2023
2023 was our second year of partnership with Kids Help Phone and their Counsellor in the Classroom program. Throughout the year, FCR’s offices across Canada took up the challenge to host fundraising events for the Foundation with great results – over $335,000 was raised throughout the year! This year also saw FCR staff continue to support FCR’s Volunteer Day program, with over 93% of the team participating. Over 1,750 hours were volunteered, supporting over 80 organizations!

2023 CRE Softball Classic
Our charity softball tournament was a huge success, raising over $221,000 to support our cause. Thank you to all the participants and donors who helped make it happen!
2023 Eastern Region Bowling Tournament
The Montreal Bowling Tournament was a huge success, raising over $50,000 for charity. It was an afternoon of great bowling while supporting a great cause.

Western Region Fundraising Events
Raising over $13,500, our Western Region events were a blast! From a 50/50 at the Calgary Stampede to the Edmonton Bowling Tournament.

2021
In 2021, we partnered with Second Harvest, Canada's largest food rescue, to raise money and deliver food to those most in need. Our employees organized community walks in cities across Canada, and raised an astonishing $338,000. This helped Second Harvest deliver 939,168 meals and redistribute 939,168 pounds of food which have otherwise gone into landfills across Canada. This ensures that 3,531,531 pounds of greenhouse gases did not enter our atmosphere, which is the equivalent of taking 491 cars off the road for an entire year!

2020
In late 2020, our Foundation was created as part of FCR’s 2020-2024 Environmental, Social, and Governance Roadmap. officially registering on January 1st, 2021. Upon laying down the foundation of our organization charity, our first fundraising effort was a company-wide food drive in support of Food Banks Canada. We were thrilled to raise over $66,000 worth of food and monetary donations for food banks in neighbourhoods across Canada. We also launched a ‘Meal Drop’ program to give back to first responders and at risk communities during the COVID-19 pandemic. We delivered hot meals to over 1,500 first responders and at-risk people in neighbourhoods in Toronto, Burlington, Montreal, Calgary, and Vancouver.
